
I am Ashis Chanda, work in Artificial Lab at American Express (AMEX), New York office as a Sr. Data Scientist. My work mainly focuses on automatic chatbot, voice call, and fraud case servicing by developing advance machine learning models.
Prior to joining AMEX, I completed summer research internship in Siemens Healthineers, and Fox Chase Cancer Center. I also worked as an adjunct faculty at the Computer Science Department in Rowan University, New Jersey, USA.
I achieved my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Temple University, Pennsylvania, USA and my Ph.D. advisor was Prof. Slobodan Vucetic. My PhD research focuses on predicting patient’s health status from Electronic Health Records (EHRs) using NLP and deep learning models.
In more technical terms, my research and industry work focuses on applying Large Language Model, NLP, Deep Learning, Machine Learning (ML), Data Visualization, and Data Mining techniques.
I am passionate about working in those fields to explore real-life problems and build a professional career in ML research.
